The Japan-U.S. Friendship Commission congratulates the Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Programme on the launch of its 40th Anniversary and joins the Government of Japan in celebrating this milestone.

Since its founding, over 40,000 Americans have taught English in Japan through the JET Programme, strengthening U.S.-Japan relations through person-to-person, educational, and cultural exchange. Upon completing their time with the JET Program, participants return to the U.S. with new skills, new experiences, and new community.  JUSFC is proud to support the U.S. JET Alumni Association (U.S. JETAA) as a grantee and applauds the alumni organization’s continued commitment to developing JET alumni networks.

Congratulations to the JET Program on 40 years of exchange, education, and collaboration!
