JUSFC Guidance on COVID-19 New Coronavirus

The Japan-U.S. Friendship Commission is closely monitoring the rapidly evolving developments of the new coronavirus (COVID-19).

In the interest of public health, JUSFC is taking all prudent and necessary steps to protect the well-being of staff, Commissioners, visitors, as well as our strategic and grantee partners, while continuing our mission work.

JUSFC’s programs and meetings are scheduled to proceed as usual unless the CDC alert level in Japan (currently Level-2) changes to necessitate a travel ban between the United States and Japan.

JUSFC-funded program participants, grantees, and Fellows are advised to consult with staff prior to making any international travel arrangements. Recognizing that other organizations may have different approaches, we recommend you frequently refer to the guidelines set forth by individual institutions.

This is a quickly evolving situation, and we will continue to monitor conditions as they develop.  Our protocols may change depending on the facts, and we will do our best to provide updates.  Please regularly review updates from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for general information regarding the situation.
