The Japan-U.S. Friendship Commission (JUSFC) is continuing to prioritize the health, safety, and well-being of our grantees, staff, Commissioners, visitors, and the public at large.  In consideration of safety, operational continuity for our mission-focused work, and guidance from the U.S. Office of Personnel Management, JUSFC, CULCON, U.S.-Japan Bridging Foundation and U.S. JET Alumni Association staff will be teleworking until further notice. Our offices are currently closed. Staff are available by email, and will respond to messages during regular business hours in Eastern Daylight Time.

JUSFC Grant Deadlines:

  • The deadline for the 2020-21 U.S.-Japan Creative Artists Program was March 1, 2020. This deadline has closed. The application process for 2021-22 will open in Fall 2020.
  • The deadline for Institutional Grants is July 1, 2020. Please refer to the Institutional Grants page for information on how to submit a grant application.

  Current JUSFC Grantees:

  • Grantees who have completed their program requirements should submit their final reports via email only to jusfc[at]jusfc[dot]gov  Please do not submit a hard copy by mail.
  • Grantees may request a no-cost extension of their grants, or seek additional guidance by sending a formal written request to jusfc[at]jusfc[gov]

Please regularly review updates from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for information regarding the pandemic.
