In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Japan-U.S. Friendship Commission (JUSFC) is recommending current grantees temporarily pause all JUSFC-funded programs and meetings that involve travel to and from Japan.

JUSFC prioritizes the health, safety, and well-being of our grantees, staff, Commissioners, and visitors. We will continue to review safety and operational constraints on our programs. Currently, Japan is at a U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Alert Level 2 (Practice Enhanced Precautions). Additional postponements or cancellations are possible, as conditions change. Grantees may request a no-cost extension of their grants, or seek additional guidance by sending a formal written request to jusfc[at]jusfc[gov]
